Valentine's Day 1984

At the Sarajevo Winter Olympics on the 14th February 1984, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean wowed the judges and a worldwide audience with their stunning routine danced to Ravel’s Bolero.
All of the finalists gave amazing performances so what made Torvill & Dean stand out from the crowd?  Instead of the traditional daring lifts and dizzying spins, Jayne and Chris portrayed a love story.  Two young lovers, unable to be together in this life, enter into a suicide pact so that they can be together in the next.
